How to Use Siri to Update Status on Social Media without Jailbreaking

Most of iPhone 4S – or higher iOS and versions – owners use Siri for fun due to the talking feature. After all, not many people are able to talk to their phone and get related response back. However, lots of them don’t know that Siri can actually be used for more useful stuffs, like helping you out to update your status in social medias and network.

You can basically ‘teach’ Siri to update status and do the simple task without having to jailbreak your device at all. Yes, if you know how, you can set the arrangement in your gadget so Siri can help you with your Twitter, Facebook, and even Google+ update. Just shout the command and Siri will automatically upload the required messages.

Activating the Feature for Facebook

Follow these steps to activate this feature:

  • Type Hello and send the text to 32665. Keep in mind that each country has different code for this, so you may want to check the Facebook help page to find out more about the code used in your country.
  • You will get a text message complete with a specific link.
  • Tap on the link in order to confirm and then add the given code to your contacts.
  • You can name it with various names, but use Facebook to make the implementation easier.
  • That’s it! You can command Siri to send a text for your Facebook account.

Activating the Feature for Twitter

Basically, the steps are almost the same, but be sure that you really follow the guide to the letters.

  • Type Start and send the text message to 40404. Again, each country has different code for this, so you may want to check the Twitter help page to find out more about the code used in your country.
  • You will get a verification text.
  • Twitter instructs you to send your username back, and then the password.
  • You will receive a certain code, which you can add to your contacts list.
  • Name it Twitter.
  • You can tell Siri to send texts whenever you want to tweet something.

Activating the Feature for Google+

Arranging the setting for Google+ will be a bit different, because the overall setting, design, and layout isn’t the same as other social media. Here are the steps to follow:

  • Go to Settings and then choose the Set Delivery Preferences option
  • Add the number you are using for the iPhone 4S
  • Make sure that you have chosen the option Don’t Notify Me. If not, you will get incoming text messages.
  • You will get a text message confirming your action, along with the verification code.
  • When you are done verifying, add it to your contacts list. Include number 33669 and name it with Google Plus.
  • You can tell Siri to send text messages to Google+ so your circle can view the updates.

All these settings aren’t difficult to do and they won’t require long time to set up. Be sure to follow the provided steps carefully and have fun!
